There are four hymns that mark the human experience. Etched in deep and rich theology, the music sways our hearts into the arms of Mary. The most well know of the four hymns if the Salve Regina sung from the day after Pentecost until the Saturday before the beginning of Advent. It is also sung at the end of funerals for priests.
This hymn is the celebration of our fullness of life in Christ. Mary’s strength and faith have shaped our own lives. She is the advocate who cares for us, who does not take sides among the many children who seek her in pain, weakness, and need.
