God keeps his promises. I see this in a common hymn in the Divine Office. The lyrics of the hymn state:

O Mother blest the chosen shrine

Wherein the Architect divine,

Whose hand contains the earth and sky,

Vouchsafed in hidden guise to lie.

Today’s memorial reminds us of how salvation comes to all of us through the obedience of the new Eve. God, who effortlessly made earth and sky, is the same God hidden in the womb of the Immaculate Mary. Presented in the temple, Mary is the new Ark of the Covenant.

When we use the title: Blessed Virgin Mary it speaks more than just her physical feature. Yes, she is physically a virgin. At the same time, her whole life is dedicated to God. She stands as a model of holiness, obedience, and faith. She stands as Mother of all believers.

Such faithfulness makes her strong. She is the one who crushes the head of Satan! Through her obedience she gives flesh to the Son of God.

God keeps his promise through a woman. The new Eve, the new Ark of the Covenant. We are called to be faithful to Jesus and Mary is the great example for all of us to follow.

Saint Mother Teresa of Calcutta has this beautiful prayer to Mary which we can all adopt:

Mary, give me your Heart: so beautiful, so pure, so immaculate; your Hearts so full of love and humility, that I may be able to receive Jesus in the Bread of Life and love Him as You loved Him and serve Him in the distressing guise of the poor.

Be holy today. Dedicate your life to Jesus today. Mary will be the perfect guide in making us better Christians.
