Pope Francis’ letter, Delexit nos (28-31) is addressed to the world and focuses on the Sacred Heart of Jesus. It was released in October 2024. The Holy Father’s sentiments reminds us that God loves persistently, incessantly, and certainly.

Our communities are diverse, with temperaments, characteristics, and worldviews. The Holy Spirit unites us through the heart. No heart is self-sufficient, for all our hearts are frail and wounded. Deeply rooted in all of us is a heart attuned to the dignity of human life. Animating this conviction is the heart that moves us beyond a mechanical understanding of the Gospels to dynamic action. All humanity is moving toward a common point of arrival, namely God.

The first chapter of the pope’s letter ends with this idea of gazing upon the unifying principle of all reality: “Chris is the heart of the world, and the paschal mystery of his death and resurrection is the center of history, which, because of him, is a history of salvation.”
