I remembered

This weekend, God gave me a moment to remember.

Old friends got together as one of our brothers from seminary married his bride.

In this moment of happy reunions, I remembered. I relived a time in our lives when we all ascended a mountain in the Pacific Northwest, lived together in community … all out of our love for Christ.

Martin came to town and was my Emmaus. Being with him, catching up, sharing stories of where the Lord has led us… was a moment my heart burned … I remembered how good the Lord has been to us.

Today we celebrated Eucharist at the Cathedral church. Standing next to him, praying with him, and singing with him, my heart remembered a treasured time in our lives… and I am grateful.

Loving God, thank you for this moment remembering you in the breaking of the bread.
