Today we commemorate the one year anniversary of the death of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI (December 31, 2022).

He served the church as a priest, theologian, archbishop, cardinal, prefect, pope and pope emeritus, but most of all as a disciple who believed in Jesus. May he be united with Jesus Christ, the One who was always at the center of his life.

I met Pope Benedict XVI all over the world in Australia, Madrid, and in Rome but where I knew Pope Benedict intimately was in the classroom, throughout the years I studied his work and his writings on the life of Jesus and I am grateful that I know Jesus more because of this amazing man.
