Today we visited the most important woman of Mexico and all the Americas: Our Lady of Guadalupe!

“I will give Him to the people in all my personal love, in my compassion, in my help, in my protection: because I am truly your merciful Mother, yours and all the people who live united in this land and of all the other people of different ancestries, my lovers, who love me, those who seek me, those who trust in me.” Our Lady of Guadalupe

After a long journey through Mexico, we finally arrived at the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe. I was filled with mixed emotions. It was a whole other chapter ago in life when I last stepped foot on this holy ground. Now I have returned, living my vocation with my wife and my two sons. As we approached the massive decorative doors of the Basilica, I fell to my knees with my wife at my side gazing on Our Lady of Guadalupe hidden behind the crucified Lord and my heart overflowed with joy. Even my two sons had a tranquil spirit as we stepped into this space. I was overwhelmed and moved to tears, feeling the warmth of a mother‘s love, a love known only through this docile Empress of the Americas. Each morning I see her in my office back home yet today was significantly different as I gazed upon the original image of this venerable lady who brought a whole nation to Jesus.

O Mary give me your heart that I may love Jesus through my family.
